Stretch Marks

Collagen and elastin are the two main factors that provide structure, firmness, and strength to our skin. When our skin stretches or shrinks quickly, the extra force causes these two components to rupture, resulting in the appearance of stretch marks.

Initially, stretch marks tend to be red, pink, purple, or dark brown, depending on your skin tone. They can also be slightly raised and itchy. Over time, stretch marks become less noticeable and their color fades to a lighter shade, often white.

Common causes of stretch marks include pregnancy and rapid weight loss or gain.

TREATMENT
